CHRIST’S COMING BRINGS A SWORD
Matthew 10: 34-35‚ Luke 12: 51-52
How can it be‚ most gracious Lord‚
you come among us with a sword?
Though songs of peace proclaimed your birth‚
you cast division on the earth.
We see you‚ in the Scriptures‚ take
a path‚ for our redemption’s sake‚
of bitter agony and pain‚
before you rise to life again.
