The Centurion’s Servant

When Jesus had finished teaching his disciples he led them back down the mountain and into Capernaum. The crowds followed him once again and soon a centurion came to him and begged Jesus to heal his servant. The man had great faith and astounded Jesus with his level of trust. Before long the centurion was hurrying home.

Marcus: Centurion! Where are you off to in such a hurry’?
Centurion: Can’t stop, Marcus, got to get home.
Marcus: Really, bit of a crisis on, eh?
Centurion: No, just the opposite. My servant has just been healed by Jesus. And I’m off home to see him.
Marcus: You mean, that prophet?
Centurion: He’s more than a prophet, Marcus, He’s God’s anointed.
Marcus: Maybe, but He didn’t do much for me, I took my slave to see Him.
Centurion: Your slave, why did you want to take him? Marcus: Oh, I didn’t want to take him. I knew it was no good. I knew that Jesus would just look at him and spout some religious stuff about repenting.
Centurion: And what did he do?
