Are you indecisive? If you’re sitting there thinking, ‘well, sometimes I can be, but not all the time, although there was that time when I…’ then you may well be.
Do you spend time looking at two items in a shop and wondering will it be this one or that one?
Or are you an avid collector? Of books, Dvds, Or Star Wars Action Figures?
Or, are you someone who simply likes things to be organised, to have a place for everything and have everything in its place? Well, if you’ve answered yes to any of the above, then we’ve got something that will be really helpful. If you haven’t answered yes, then don’t fear as I think you’ll find this useful anyway.
My Library
Let me introduce you to My Library. Once you’ve registered with The Seed you’ll have access to a range of new features. One of the simplest, but most powerful is, My Library.
When you are logged in you’ll find, at the top right of The Seed homepage, the words My Library. This is a link and if you click on it you’ll be taken to a page with no resources or articles on it. That’s because this is your library and as yet you haven’t got anything in it. So how do you get stuff into your library?
When you search for and find a resource you can either download it or, if you look beneath the download button, you’ll see an ‘Add to your Seed Library’ button. This does exactly what it says.
Every resources that you view and click the ‘Add to your Seed Library’ will be added. To view all of these resources simply click on the My Library button at the top and there they are.
If you want to delete any of the resources that you have added. Then click the X on the top left corner of that resource and it will vanish. Any puffs of smoke that accompany this vanishing act mean you may have something wrong with your computer and have nothing to do with The Seed.
What Can I use My Library For?
It is your Library so you can use it for anything that helps you in organising your resources.
If you have run out of credits, although an increased credit subscription plan is only a click away, or don’t have any until pay day, then you can use your library like a wish list. You can add and keep all the resources that you’ll want to eventually have.
If you like several resources, and are not sure what one to use, the library can be used like a light box. You can save several resources to the library and compare them side by side.
Perhaps you’re not sure that you really want that resources, well then use your library as a repository for future reference. In fact using the library for future reference has a whole host of applications.
- Record resources that you have used
- Keep the resources of your favourite contributors
- Keep images that have inspired you
It isn’t just resources that you can add to your library. Articles can also be added. So you could keep a collection of articles that have inspired you, or shown you how to do certain things in relation to worship or personal devotion. In this way you can create your own magazine of interesting articles.
The library is a place for you to collect things. You can use these collections for what you want and the ideas above are not exhaustive. We’d love to hear any other ideas from you. Just add your comments in the ‘review’ box below and share them with us.
In the meantime, don’t forget to use your library, it is there for you, to help you organise the resources you like on The Seed.
