The search is probably the most important tool on The Seed. This is your gateway to explore and find exactly what you are looking for amongst the tens of thousands of resources that The Seed has.
Hit the big orange Search button to open the Search Draw, where you can refine what you are looking for with the greatest detail. In addition to the Keywords and Section selectors, you also have the Category section that also appears in the browse drawer (more on that later). If you are looking for something specific and you know who created the resource you can add their name here in the Author/Contributor box. My own personal favourite though is the Resource type selector. This lets me choose what sort of resource I am looking for, so if I am searching for picture of a lake I can type ‘Lake’ in Keywords now choose to see results that are just images from Resource type , and click the big Go button on the right.
Lectionary weeks in advance!
At the bottom of the Search Draw is a special search section for the Lectionary. This allows you to look at all the Lectionary resources for the next ten weeks, a planner’s heaven. Just click on the arrows to the right of Choose Sunday and the drop-down menu shows you the next ten weeks, by name. Or if you are in a hurry, then you can click to the right where it says View Next Sunday’s Resources and voila, they appear, with the Lectionary readings just a link away.
Browsing
To the left of The Seed logo you’ll find three links. The one furthest left is Browse. Click on Browse and a section, or draw, drops down to show the Browse index.
This section offers some shortcuts to the resources on the site, making it easier to find what you need. Here you’ll find a link to the This Week’s Lectionary resources, also telling you what week and year it is. You’ll also find a list of categories. The Seed uses Categories to group together resources for events, such as Easter, Christmas and Lent and also certain types of resource eg meditation and drama
There is also a list of Featured content creators. Click through and you’ll find all the resources that have been created by these artists that we recommend you take a look at.
Finally you’ll find a list of Publishers that The Seed work with. The Seed sells the products of these publishers. Click on these links and you’ll be presented with all the titles that are currently available from each of the publishers.
