One thing to remember with websites and computers is that there are often several ways of getting the same result, or at least arriving at the same place. These walkthroughs offer what we feel are the easiest ways, but we may well be wrong.
The Registration process
The most important part of The Seed is at the very top. This is where you can login to the site or register. If you want to use any of the resources on The Seed you will need to register an account, although you can browse and look around without registering. Just like the best shops, The Seed wants you to feel free to browse around.
Across the top next to the Go button you’ll see the word Register. Click on this and you’ll be taken to the very simple registration form. All we need is your name, an email address and a password. Remember it is good practice to not use the same password for every site you use.
Once you have filled these in there are some optional questions in the centre that will help us shape The Seed in the future, but you can fill these in later if you wish. (see View Account)
On the right hand side you can apply for the three free resources subscription. If you agree to the statement and are UK & Eire based then click in the checkbox. You will also need to agree to The Seed’s terms and conditions (small print that all sites and companies need and invite you to read and agree to).
Beneath this are a series of checkboxes that allow us to keep in touch with you. If you leave these boxes checked you’ll get the weekly Seed newsletter and occasional newsletters from the others listed via email.
Finally, click the big orange Register button and, if you’ve filled everything in correctly your registration will be done. If you’ve missed something important, the page will reload and the area you need to complete will be highlighted.
If everything has been filled in correctly you will be logged in and taken to your account page, titled My Account. You’ll see your name in the top left, an option to Sign Out and how many credits you have left depending on your current subscription. At the top right you’ll now have My Library and Basket links.
We send you an email with some more information. If the email hasn’t arrived within a couple of hours, check your spam or junk mail folder. If it isn’t there, check that you have filled in the correct email address on your account page.
All your details can be edited here, just click the Edit button and change any details that are incorrect.
