If anyone would follow me

If any one would follow me’

If any here one would follow Christ -
A journey has been proffered;
There is a way the Saviour walked
Who loved and cared and suffered.
All, all the world may provide -
The fragile hopes, the hollow dreams –
Leave, leave and turn aside
And walk the way that’s offered.

The World’s cold way is broad and wide;
And few those who refuse it -
The Saviour leads another route
And wills that we should choose it –
Then, once through the narrow gate
The World seems less, the Kingdom more,
Who ever would keep the life they hold
Are doomed at last to lose it.
