What can be done to enrich the worship of a congregation where the only reliable music comes from a digital hymnal or CD? What if there are young children present, for whom formal hymns or songs would be inappropriate? One answer is to write Christian words to well known and out of copyright tunes – then teach it to them. This piece was written for a school assembly and subsequently used in All Age worship in just those circumstances. In both situations the theme was “Children as Peacemakers” The words fit the tune “Three Blind Mice” fairly well, though you may need to sing it through yourself a few times – or rehearse a few good singers to lead the rest.

Blessed are the peace makers

One, Two, Three
One, Two, Three
Je-sus, You and Me
Je-sus, You and Me
We’ll all look after those in strife,
We’ll help them live a good long life,
Did you ever see such delight in your life
As no more strife.
