Footprints
1 Two sets of footprints in the sand
remind me of life's journey.
I walk with God; He gently leads.
His fatherhood surrounds me.
2 But in the lowest, saddest times
the footprints are but one set.
Could such a loving Father
leave my need of comfort unmet?
3 He promised he would walk with me
when I began to follow.
How could he let me walk alone
in times of greatest sorrow?
4 “My precious child” the Master said,
“When you felt worn and broken
One footprint only was in view
because I carried you then.”
