Is rich in potential but poor in its ways
What's needed are stories where new things are tried
Like Cana where Jesus was first glorified.
For all who have faith in things that can't be seen
In worlds of contentment with what's always been
What's needed are stories both wondrous and strange
Like Cana where Jesus brought wonder and change
For all who put faith in the one they call 'Lord'
This world can't devour His life-giving word -
What's needed is found in the story and sign
Of Cana where Jesus turned water to wine.
For all who believe that God's Kingdom is truth
The world is transformed when we live here by faith
That's needed to trust in God's wonder and power
As Jesus at Cana approaches his hour.
For all who believe that God's ways are not ours
This world's overcome with its life-taking powers -
What's needed is given to those who will see
At Cana the Jesus who saves you and me.
