Pause, in Advent, ponder well:
God with us, Emmanuel.
This firm promise, made of old,
now renewed, brings hope untold.
Wait, in Advent, patiently;
live in bold expectancy.
Pause and wait and ponder well:
God with us, Emmanuel.
Hark, in Advent, strain the ear.
Soon the Bridegroom will appear.
Be prepared to greet him well:
God with us, Emmanuel.
