TELLING THE CHRISTMAS STORY (Luke 2: 8-20)
The wakeful shepherds hear and see
a wondrous sound and sight:
angelic choirs in harmony
add splendour to the night.
“No longer fear; let sorrows cease‚”
they hear God’s angel say‚
announcing Jesus‚ Prince of Peace
and Saviour‚ born today.
So‚ coaxed by God’s persuasive power‚
the shepherds in their quest
discover in this midnight hour
the Child‚ earth’s heav’nly Guest.
