This short prayer, is a plea for deeper faith and hope as the challenges of old age become more pressing. It can be used as either a personal prayer or congregationally. It may be especially relevant for use in old people's homes and the like.
A prayer of hope for the elderly
Lord Jesus, Saviour and friend,
As the fresh and frightening challenges of old age bring their
anxieties, grant me/us
a deepening sense of your companionship,
confidence in your continuing love, and
thankfulness for the good things in my/our life.
