A sermon for All saints day or halloween
What an image! Thousands upon thousands of people clothed in the brightest white giving God the worship he deserves.
Lots of people this weekend and tomorrow have and will be celebrating Halloween, and very few of them have any idea that its real name is All Hallows Eve or All Saints Eve, because Tuesday is all saints day.
The festival of All Saints, also sometimes known as "All Hallows," or "Hallowmas," is a feast celebrated in their honour. All Saints is also a Christian formula celebrating all the faithful saints and martyrs, known or unknown.
Now we aren’t really big on Saints in the Methodist Church, in fact in all of the time I have been in the Methodist Church the only time I ever hear Saints mentioned is either in prayer, especially in prayers of intercession or more.......
