Drama/dialogue: Poor beggar
(Could be performed by two, or more, voices, or told in story form)

“One more beggar,” said the devout ones who passed on the way to synagogue and threw the obligatory coin.
“Poor beggar,” said those who knew how hard it was to live with little, as they offered to share their meagre bread with him.
“Silly beggar,” said those with enough knowledge and experience to recognize that there were more lucrative places to beg.
“Lazy beggar,” said those arrogant enough to believe that everyone had the capability of earning a living, however handicapped they may be.
“Ugly beggar,” said those who looked at his ragged clothes, matted hair and his face and body covered in sores.
