Description
* Well-crafted contemporary Wedding Hymns, thoughtfully expressed in accessibly traditional terms ~ and easily joinable-in by regular or occasional churchgoers alike.
* They each celebrate marriage in a Christian context, often within a traditional Trinitarian structure. The wording is generally so pitched that while committed churchgoers of any mainstream denomination should be in full & sincere sympathy, others would not be put off by having inappropriate extremes of devotive personal piety forced into their mouths.
Beyond the obvious, the aim has always been to find common ground on which the majority of guests can contribute actively, easily and with genuine good will, at a level with which they are personally comfortable, to the ceremony in which their marrying friends/family have invited them to share.
* The hymns all have 'proper rhymes', often in conscious tribute to previous words (which rarely, in themselves, overtly suit the wedding context: 'Jerusalem', anyone?)
* They scan correctly to the metre and contour of tunes in all verses. Each tune is likely to be widely known even among occasional congregants, and readily available to most church musicians.
Contains:
- Four warm ceremonial wedding hymns to familiar tunes.
