Immersion
The Words of John the Baptist
As the years have gone by I have grown to understand. Not only understand but love – love what God was doing that fateful day. I suppose there’s no surprise, given what I wore, what I ate, that what I love about God – what I’ve always loved about God is that complete immersion. It’s true, isn’t it Lord? No holds barred you plunged into humanity and all that that means. The sticky, grimy, messy, glorious, scary, awkwardness of what it means to be us.
Just look at what happened that day. There was no need for it, really there wasn’t. No need at all.
