Interactive Reflection on 2 Timothy 1.3-5
Lois and Eunice are honoured here in Paul’s letter to Timothy. Saint Paul remembered the faith that lived in them and rejoiced that they had passed that faith on to Timothy. I wonder how many of us if asked to name women in the Bible would remember them?
The names on our rolls of honour in the church and the world are often those of men. Most of the stories in the Bible centre around a male character and the women seem to take supporting roles. When they are centre-stage, they tend to be causing trouble or are unable to bear children. There are well known and remembered women in the Bible, just as there are in history and in the world today...
