Description
Monologue: Not your job, mate!
It hurts to feel rejected, especially when you’re only trying to do your best. You have a good idea. It seems to be the right thing to do. It’s certainly possible to do it and you feel you’re the right one for the job. And then – crash! You’re told, ‘it’s not your job, mate. Somebody else will be taking that one on!’
It’s a shocker! What’s wrong with me? Why shouldn’t I do it? I’m only trying to give something back. I can afford it and it would stop me feeling guilty for having so much of a good time.
But, no. I’m not wanted. Not for that anyway. And when The Boss says, ‘No!’ I suppose that’s the end of the argument. But what have I done wrong? I know I’m not perfect, but who is? And can’t I be allowed to make amends?
