Reuben's story
Even now, after all these years, I can still hardly believe what happened on that night in the month of Kislev, although I'll never forget it as long as I live. I mean, there we were, just a bunch of ordinary, working class men, not rich enough to own our own flocks or anything, we just looked after them for our master, and yet for some reason, we were chosen by God to be visited by angels, and to be the first ones to find out about the birth of the Messiah!
You would have expected it to be the religious leaders, people like the High Priest and other members of the Sanhedrin to be the first to find out, or if not them, then at the very least the Pharisees from the synagogue in Bethlehem...
