Dear friend – the world seems to delight in shaking me to my core. I don’t want to appear old-fashioned – really I don’t, but I am regularly stunned into a state of submission by what I see and hear every day. The world seems to take a perverse delight in shocking me.
The language that people use about each other, the things that they do, the choices they make...I cannot understand it.
It’s at every level – from people I see on the streets in town, to situations I watch on the news - everywhere all the time – lives and actions that leave me shaken. Our world demands speed and noise and violence and increasingly that is how we live our lives – fast, noisy and violent. There is too little thought of others and too much concentration on ourselves.
