Poem/Reflection based on Luke 8:22-39
Reflection on the storm on the lake and the healing of a troubled man.

Storm
The storm came on suddenly, unexpectedly.
They had set out purposefully across calm waters – the opposite shore clearly visible.
But in minutes the rising wind whipped the waves into a raging frenzy.
Spray engulfed the boat.
Out of control; buffeted by the forces of chaos; unable to see the way ahead.
Overwhelmed.
Sinking.
Drowning.
In a world that is formless and desolate.
But there was a greater power moving on the waters.
The word was spoken, and there was light.
