Poem: Sheep?

We’re not too happy about being called sheep.
Sheep have the image of being woolly and warm, but not too bright.
Sheep blindly follow each other and their minder, wherever they are led.
Sheep don’t seem to have very much going for them –
not in a world where individuality, personality and achievement seem to matter more than anything else.
Who’d want to be called a sheep?

Who’d want to follow a shepherd?
Shepherds have the image of rough outdoor types, stalking the hills and whistling at dogs.
Shepherds ride quad bikes and wear flat caps and wellies all the time.
Shepherds don’t seem to have very much going for them – not in a world where fashion, money and ‘stuff’ are at the top of most people’s hit-lists.
Who’d want to be called a shepherd?
