Description
Poem: Rachel betrayed
Proper 12 year A
Genesis 29: 15-28
Betrayed – by my own father!
How could he?
Seven long years I’ve waited.
Seven years I’ve noticed his eyes following me;
heard his voice speaking loudly enough for me to hear;
watched his strong arms lifting, carrying, working so hard for me..
Seven years I’ve known that I was the one he had chosen.
Seven years I’ve been impatient, yet obedient,
believing that the reward of love would come...

Jacob, betrayal, marriage, Laban, Leah, working, seven years, deceit, jealousy
