Remembrance Day Meditation

Leader ‘Nation will rise up against Nation.’
All And through all the centuries it has been so;
Countless lives lost,
Millions injured and maimed,
Families grieving and bereft,
Lives and hearts shattered beyond repair,
Hopes and dreams buried in dust and rubble.

Leader ‘Peace I give you, my peace I leave with you.’
All But how can there be peace, Lord,
When we will not accept the peace you offer, when instead of love we are filled with anger and hatred?
When instead of putting on humility we clothe ourselves with pride and arrogance?
When instead of seeking good we chase after evil?
When hearts created for loving are filled with bitterness and resentment
And minds intended for creativity are used to plot destruction?
