SKETCH: DOING THE RIGHT THING:

Simon meets his old friend Jacob in the Synagogue. Simon is looking rather downhearted (Based upon Luke 7:36-50).

Jacob: Hello Simon, good to see you. But why are you looking so glum.
Simon: O, hello Jacob; you’re right I’m feeling a bit off colour. I’ve had rather a strange experience.
Jacob: Tell me about it.
Simon: Well you know I always try to do the right thing.
Jacob: I sure do. I can’t think of anyone more virtuous than you. I’m quite sure that you obey everything that’s written down in the law, right down to the last full stop and comma. You’re a shining example to the rest of us.
Simon: Thank you for saying so.
Jacob: Yes; and the things you do for this synagogue are out of this world. What would we do without you?
Simon: Well, I try to do my best.
Jacob: So why are you looking so miserable?
Simon: It’s this fellow, Jesus, you know, the wandering preacher from Nazareth.
