Psalm 23


The sunlight was warm on my face in the morning;
by evening the air was as chilling as death.
The valley was deeper than I had imagined,
a canyon cut coarsely,
the breeze scarcely shifted...
oh hardly a breath.
My mood was distorted,
disturbed,
even desolate;
my mind chasing demons,
demented, distressed...
