CAN WE EVER BE ALONE? Hosea 11: 8-9
1 Can we ever be alone
in this world our God has made?
Will this gentle courteous One
leave us wand’ring and afraid?
2 God, who fashioned heav’n and earth,
still is active here and now,
bringing fresh new life to birth,
helping it mature and grow.
3 This our God, who loves us well,
comes among us in the Word,
God with us, Emmanuel,
Jesus Christ, our common Lord.
4 Raised from death on Easter Day,
he, our Fellow-Pilgrim, still
journeys with us on the way,
be our fortunes good or ill.
5 With the Saviour at our side,
knowing well the Spirit’s power,
we may travel far and wide,
loving, trusting hour by hour.
6 Never will this gracious One
leave us lonely and afraid!
Surely we are not alone
in this world our God has made!
