when we have lost it all.
It’s difficult to hear God’s voice,
to listen to Christ’s call.
Yet God will seek to meet each need
to warm and calm each heart.
If now bereft and desolate,
our God will share a part.
For when our lives are broken up,
and hurt compounds our fear,
then we are nearer still to grace
and centred in God’s care.
