Resting shepherds saw an angel,
light and glory filled the skies,
blinded by this sudden presence
each one tried to shield his eyes.
Catching those angelic songsters’
echoes hanging in the air,
raised those shepherds from their slumbers
searching out what might be there.
Those who know the story better,
heard it told from youth to age,
now anticipate the stable,
have a vision of the stage.
