1 When crowds assembled to acclaim their King‚
their echoing praises made the city ring:
had they been silent‚ Christ the Saviour said‚
the stones could well have shouted praise instead.
2 In olden times‚ when Christians first were made‚
on Christ‚ in living hope‚ their lives were stayed:
“Be temples of the Spirit‚” they were taught‚
“be living stones to God’s own building brought.”
