Description
DO IT AGAIN, LORD, DO IT AGAIN!
(From words written by Max Lucado
after the terrorist attack of 11thSeptember 2001)
Dear Lord, as the innocent are interred,
Our innocence is interred as well.
The belief in our safety is shattered,
We’re not unlike the rest of the World.
We remember the Hebrews in Egypt –
Whose children You protected from Death.
We, too, have children, ill-equipped,
So Lord, cover them with Your breath!
Thank You, now, view of man's colour fell flat
Christians praying with Muslims and Jews;
Republican standing with Democrat;
Whilst the World wept over the news
At Calvary, You saw innocence slaughtered;
Goodness murdered, evil dancing, run amok;
Weeping mothers, sisters, and daughters;
Heaven’s Sweetest Song, interred 'neath a rock!
But You turned that darkest Good Friday
To become the most bright Sunday of all.
Grant us a new September Easter Day.
Let us watch the purposes of evil fall!
