I’m sure that winters are getting colder. I asked my friend about this the other day. He replied
that, in fact, they are getting warmer and the reason for them feeling colder is simply due to the
fact that I am getting old. I could have argued the point with him but I would have lost. After all,
he is the co-chair of the Scientific Assessment Group on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change – in other words, he knows more about the weather than Michael Fish.
He has spent the last decade of his life working with the world’s leading scientists, studying the
effects of global warming. Whatever certain American Government officials try to say, the
scientific community is united on this one – perhaps more than on any other scientific issue.
Taking all the possible predictions of what will happen in the future, scientists agree that the
global temperature of the earth will increase in the next 100 years by between 1.5 and 6 degrees,
due to the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum.
