Psalm 37: 1-20

The day before yesterday, in a demonstration that turned violent, the police station a quarter of a mile from where I lived as a child in Birmingham, England, and a quarter of a mile from my church there, was set on fire. One has a lot of sympathy with the people involved in the demonstrations in England, in the United States, and elsewhere who see the decision makers in their society doing well, like many people who benefit from their governments’ policies, while many ordinary people are jobless and/or homeless and have nothing to live with or for.
