Description
‘Was Jesus a Christian?’
The small boy asked.
Well, no…he was a Jew.
He was just a man.
Christian or not Christian, Jew or Gentile, Muslim or New age worshipper,
Doesn’t come into it.
It never does when you get to such a point.
No dignity, no identity, everything stripped away.
Just a man, a person.
Like all of us, but reduced to a body
With no possessions, no clothes to call his own,
Naked, humiliated, exposed, misunderstood.
A refugee, a concentration camp survivor, a street dweller, a sick patient in
his last hour in an understaffed hospital, the mere shell of a human being.
