A Deaf and Mute Man Is Healed...

...I received a leaked memo the other day on my fax machine. It wasn’t a very serious leak – something that would be in the papers in a couple of days anyway – but it gave me a strange feeling. It goes on all the time in political circles, of course, where reputations are made and broken with one careless remark that gets out to the newspapers, and where calculated leaks are made to destabilize political opponents. But it doesn’t normally happen to me.

Jesus wanted to keep some things secret until the right moment, but the news didn’t just leak out – it poured out, as people simply couldn’t stop talking about what they’d seen him do...
