Thessalonians 3.1-5


The young adult daughter of some friends of ours went on a trip round the world, and was so enjoying life that, at one stage, she didn’t phone home for several weeks. Her parents had no way of getting in touch, and were beside themselves with worry. At last the local church held a prayer meeting to ask for God’s help. The next day the girl phoned up, happy and unconcerned.

Parents lie awake at night and worry about their children. This is how it has always been, and we may assume that it’s part of normal human life. Often children don’t realize how much the parents are thinking about them, concerned for their welfare, turning over in their minds all the things that might happen to them...
