Reflection on Proverbs 31: 10-31

‘A good woman is hard to find,’ they say.
I’m not surprised, if you look at that picture they paint in Proverbs.
It sets feminism back into the Dark Ages and even caps Shirley Conran’s Superwoman for imposing impossible demands on a woman’s time and energy.

How can any woman live up to that?
And you’ll notice that it all comes out in favour of the man’s status in society.

The attributes of the wife are seen totally in the context of how that reflects on the possessions of the husband – his wife being the most important possession of all.

Oh dear! How times have changed.
