Children for a change
St Nicholas (6 December)

Unless your church is named after St Nicholas, it’s unlikely you will have celebrated this as a festival. But it’s a great opportunity to focus on children and families, and might make part of a special event during the approach to Christmas. As this feast falls right in the middle of the Advent season, it would work as an additional service to the principal Sunday morning Eucharist or could be part of a mid-week celebration. It is also an opportunity to involve children in leading and taking part as indicated. However, it could also be used in churches where there are few or no children actively involved, as a reminder that children are an essential part of God’s family...
