Although the order of the books in the New Testament would suggest that we turn to Hebrews next, it will be more useful to follow Acts with a study of 1 Peter, since the first part of Acts was devoted to Peter’s speeches. In particular, it will be interesting to see if 1 Peter
makes use of the same psalm texts to speak about Christ’s persecution (Ps. 2.1–2), rejection (Ps. 118.22), resurrection (Ps. 16.8–11) and exaltation (Ps. 110.1), along with inheriting the throne of David from Psalm 132.11…
