Each of the following sketches (scenes) can be used to form the basis for a complete act of worship or used as individual scenes on separate occasions. Each scene will require a narrator to read the linking text as well as the characters in the scene itself.

Jesus: Let me tell you one more story…
Prodigal: Father you know you have this wonderful estate here?
Father: Yes.
Prodigal: What will happen to it when you die?
Father: You and your brother will inherit it all. You know that. All of my wealth is yours.
Prodigal: Then I’d like my share now please.
Father: Now?
Prodigal: Yes. I’ve got plans.
Father: Plans? You’ve got a family – and a life here – why do you need plans?
Prodigal: I don’t need them – but I have them. It’s a free country – I’d like some money so I can explore it.
Father: You break my heart son – I never imagined this. Your brother’s quite happy here…
Prodigal: Exactly!
