Service Contents:

The following words may be used as an introduction leading to the two minutes’ silence:

Let us remember the loss and pain of war.

We remember with grief and anger…

Two Minutes’ Silence

The Last Post

We will remember them:

Hymn: O God our help in ages past or By a monument of marble

Remembrance of those who have died is imperative, particularly if those people died in war…

Prayer: Where there is distress and tears are the deepest expression of sorrow –

Hymn: For the healing of the nations or God would not will what we have seen

We step back to a memory:

Hymn: 736 In heavenly love abiding or At the rising and the setting

Reading: Matthew 12:26-28 *

Reading: Romans 5: 1–11 *

Sermon:

Hymn: God! As with silent hearts we bring to mind (Possible alternative tune: EVENTIDE) or Christ
