Are You Ready for Solid Food?
Hebrews 5.11-14

I saw in the newspaper this morning a delightful photograph of a Nepalese royal baby. The Kingdom of Nepal suffered a severe blow a few years ago when a member of the royal family shot dead several of his relatives. Now, with a new generation being born, the family is beginning to be restored. Hope is starting to emerge after the terrible shock and ordeal.

The photograph showed the baby, who as I write is six months old, being fed some solid food for the first time. This is apparently a central ritual in the religious practice of the family. It will be some while before the baby can move away from a diet of mostly milk and some small, soft solids to the fuller solid diet of the growing child. But a start has been made, and everyone was all smiles at the thought...
