The Death of Judas
Matthew 27.1-10

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this story is the people who do not show remorse.

In many countries, a feature of the criminal justice system is that people who have been jailed for serious crimes often become eligible for parole, or possibly even for early release, if they show genuine remorse for what they have done. The system breaks down, of course, when someone who was wrongfully imprisoned refuses to show remorse for a crime he or she didn’t commit, and so stays in prison years longer than if they had agreed to play along with the false verdict. But at least several justice systems do try to acknowledge the importance of facing up to the consequences of one’s actions...
