Galatians 6.1-5
I was reading the autobiography of a world-famous cricketer. He described how for his first ten years in the game the team he played for never succeeded in winning a major trophy. They had star players, many of them of much better quality than most other teams. But they were all out for themselves, their own success, their own reputation.
After those ten years, some of the senior players retired, and a younger team, less well known, emerged. A new captain was appointed, not such a famous cricketer, but determined to pull the side together. They began to work as a team. The stars were still able to perform, but the key thing was that every single player began to work for the good of the whole. If they saw another player making a mistake they would help them instead of sneering. If someone was having a difficult patch they would encourage them instead of being glad that they could shine instead. And so on. And the miracle happened: at last, the team won the championship...
