As disciples long ago ate and drank with Jesus Christ,
so we come to do the same, He is nearer than we think.
As disciples ate the bread, as disciples drank the wine;
so we come as we are now—at His feet to humbly bow.
At His feet and as we’re bowed full of tears and full of hope,
Jesus comes and shares with us, all the greatness of His love:
to each of us Jesus gives, the bread of eternal life—
to remind us that He shares in our life and in our strife.
