A shade for the nations and fruit for the earth,
a focus for people, a mark of their worth;
the sign of a cedar, a hope set up high,
for grace would be present, this wasn't a lie.

Abandoned in exile, or so it would seem,
the prophet had spoken of more than a dream.
Dejected and hopeless, their future seemed flawed,
yet through restoration life could be restored.

Verse 3 follows

Tune: DATCHET, NORMANDY
Metre: 11.11.11.11
