Through millennia life has listed, tottered on from age to age;
now the ones made in your image:
live and occupy this stage.
As we see the world around us,
sound the depths of time and space;
we have wondered at your nature,
celebrated boundless grace.
Through our glimpse of your creation,
just a second of your time,
human minds have been astounded
at this fragment of your rhyme.
When the end of all we fathom,
when the day of God will dawn,
we cannot compute, imagine,
yet need strength to greet that morn.
Verse 3 follows
