Hymn: We cannot judge another's way
Proper 11 year A
Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43
We cannot judge another's way,
however clear our view might be,
we do not have the eyes of God,
we do not have the sight to see.
We look at those who stand around,
what brought them to this time and place,
what joys and hurts have formed their lives,
what time of love, what share of grace?
Without this knowledge can we know
the root of action, cause of spite?
How can we fathom who we are,
our heights of love, or fear of night?
God knows each person's life and woe...
