Description
Drama: The Vine
On stage one figure, ‘the vine’, stands centrally with arms raised.
Other people – as many as you like, but at least five – are attached to the central figure in lines on either side, by holding hands, or belts, or green ribbons. Each figure should have leaves and grapes – some with hardly any, others with many.
A girl enters and looks at the assembly. She talks to the central figure.
GIRL Hello! What are you?
VINE I’m a plant.
GIRL What kind of a plant?
VINE A vine.
GIRL What does a vine do?
VINE I grow grapes.
GIRL Grapes! That’s great! I like grapes. Can I have some?
VINE Sorry. They’re not really ready yet. In any case, most of my grapes are made into wine.
GIRL Oh, what a pity. I’m not allowed to drink wine. Never mind
She looks around.
GIRL What are all these pieces hanging on your plant?
