As a schoolteacher, I used to spend long evenings marking children’s exercise books. Occasionally, I would suddenly realize that I had seen this answer before, or something very like it, and a frantic search would ensue back through the pile. With the two offending books placed side by side, it could be seen that one child had copied from another – and then the real fun would start, trying to work out, from the style or misunderstandings, who had copied from whom!
